I haven’t been checking in too often but today I decided to revisit “The Real Me”.  It’s been nearly a year and half since I posted my thoughts on John Lovell and I’m still the number 2 entry on Google for his name.

That is pretty darn cool.

There is no one in baseball who I am more happier for than JD Drew.  Last year I was not liking Mr. Drew.  This year all the hope of last year is being shown.  All around seems like a nice guy having a great year.

The NY fans showed the nation how truly class-less they are when the starting Red Sox players were announced.  I don’t recall Boston showing the same contempt for Yankee players in 1999.  NY needs to get over the fact that the Sox have been fortunate in the past 4 years and concentrate on their own team issues.

i was getting ready to go to work the other day and my daughter asked my wife, “Where’s Daddy going?”. My wife told her that he’s going to work. To which my daughter said, “but it’s summer vacation? He supposed to be with us.”. As a father that was great to hear. She wanted me home to enjoy their summer break with them as a family. Nearly brought a tear to my eye. Sometimes you forget the impact you have on your children. And even though they turn to their mother first, they still want to be with me. Now if I can only hit the lottery and actually stay home with them while they’re young.

OK sometimes a so-so movie makes an impact on me. This time it was Evan Almighty. I only watched it because I like Steve Carrell. Well the point of the movie is God wanted this guy to build an ARK. And it all comes down to is an ARK is one Act of Random Kindness.

It is a great message buried in a so-so movie.

Be nice to each other. Why is this so hard to do?

Sometimes you don’t realize how lucky you are. I was getting gas today ($3.93/gallon) and looked over at the day care center across the street. Several cars stopped and dropped off their little children. Young. Maybe 4 and under. I feel very fortunate that my wife was able to stay home when our children were that young. She could have worked, but what would our children have missed out on. The money would have been great but there is no amount that would cover what my children would have missed.

OK the economy sucks, gas prices are sky high and foreclosure rates are unheard of, so what does Arlon Specter focus on: Football.

Who the hell cares?  How does this really affect me and my family and 99.8% of the rest of the US population?  I mean come on.  Do our government agencies have nothing better to focus in on?

OK so last year I coached a “coach” pitch team and now I’m an assistant coach for a “minors” team.  Essentially the kids pitch but cannot walk the batter, the batter’s coach calls balls and strikes on his kids, and at 4 balls the batter’s coach steps in and pitches till the batter is out or hits into play.  You meet alot of interesting people coaching other teams and I tell you most of them are trying to compensate for something in their life.  I’m out there trying to get the players to understand what they are supposed to do.  Where they should be playing, what base is the play too, hitting the cutoff, better yet what is the cutoff man.

Don’t get me wrong, some coaches are great too, but it takes only one to totally piss you off.  Today we played the league commissioner’s team.  It went pretty well but man-o-man I’m not sure I’d like him to coach my kid.  Anyways, we were down 7-3 and our team did great and came back to tie the game.  The commish asks if we have time for another inning and we’re like sure.  Well we play the top of the inning his team scores 2 more times and then being the commish, he calls the game after the half inning.  So tell me what I tell me kids?  I know we’re not supposed to keep score, but the kids do.  So tomorrow when they go to school and the other team, and you know they will, starts in with the “we won” talk, what do I tell my kids.  I’m not saying we would have won, but we didn’t even get a chance for our team to try.

It’s this crap that makes people not want to get involved with coaching.  This commish had the heart of his line-up coming up and he knew they would hit (and they did).  AAARRRRGGGHHHHH, it’s frustrating.

Nothing much to say today, so we’ll leave it a plain and simple, “Good Morning!”

$1.55 that was the price of unleaded gasoline when Georgie boy “defeated” Al Gore in November 2000.  In my area that price is now roughly $3.65, more than doubled.  Thanks George!!!!

Currently home heating oil prices hover around $4.00.  Thank God the spring is here.

Why can anyone vote for a political party that allowed this to happen?   What exactly will the party nominees do to resolve this?  Let’s be honest, what can they do?  Georgie’s legacy will be that of screwing the American public more than any president in the last 100 years.

Recall I don’t consider myself a Democrat or Republican, but I can’t help but place a large amount of this blame squarely on the Republican shoulders.

Spring is in the air and that means only one thing to me, return of baseball!!

I don’t know why but I love that game.  Whether it’s watching MLB or the farm teams, it doesn’t matter.  Good baseball to me is just entertaining.  Nothing better than a game of catch with your children.  And who doesn’t love attending a Red Sox game at Fenway.  Spring is here!!!
